About the company
Our client, a national provider of healthcare services, is looking for a Community Liaison Officer, to support the growth of their Darwin business. This is a part-time opportunity (24 hours per week).

The goal of this position is to strengthen the awareness of the Healthcare Service among various stakeholders in the Darwin community, including: parents with children at kindergartens and schools; nursing staff at aged care homes; doctors and nurses at hospitals and GP clinics. We require an  energetic  and  organised  person with an engaging style (aka a great personality!) to drive this activity.

Scope of Role

The Community Liaison Officer will be responsible for completing the following tasks:
  • Establishing, building and maintaining business relationships with staff at aged care facilities, hospitals, pharmacies and GP clinics, and parents at schools, kindergartens and other community organisations.
  • Preparing presentations, promotional materials and other collateral as required.
  • Identifying promotion and awareness-raising events and activities in the local area.
  • Substantial car travel throughout Darwin will be required. It is essential for candidates to have access to their own car. Vehicle costs will be fully reimbursed.

Skills and experience required

  • A friendly and engaging communication style in face-to-face meetings and via telephone and email is required.
  • Previous experience working in the health, indigenous health or aged care sector is desirable.
  • The capacity to work independently to deliver an agreed plan and to report on outcomes in a timely and clear manner via email.
  • Contact details for two recent referees are required.


  • This is a part-time (24 hours) position. Our client is flexible as to when and where these hours are worked. The flexible working arrangements could suit a parent returning to the workforce with young children in school.
  • The pay is $25 per hour plus super and fuel allowance.
