APLNG CSG-LNG project now 75% complete

One of Australia’s largest CSG to LNG projects, Australia Pacific LNG, remains on schedule to deliver first LNG in mid-2015, with work on the project now 75% complete.

Origin Energy Chief Executive Officer LNG David Baldwin reported on the progress of the project following the release last month of Origin’s Annual Reserves Report and Quarterly Production Report for its Exploration and Production business for the period ended 30 June 2014.

Mr Baldwin said that strong progress had been made on Australia Pacific LNG with the Upstream component of the project approximately 76 per cent complete and the Downstream component approximately 75 per cent complete at 30 June 2014.

During the past quarter, 141 Phase 1 development wells were drilled, bringing the total to 821. Of these, 39 were drilled in Condabri, 18 in Spring Gully, 54 in Combabula, three in Talinga and 27 in Orana.

The Condabri Central Train 1 gas processing facility was also commissioned during this quarter.

For the year ended 30 June 2014, Origin recorded production of 142 PJe across all its projects, a 15% increase on the prior year, and a 32% increase in revenues to $1,122 million.

Origin’s overall production during the June quarter increased by 8% cent compared with the March quarter while sales volumes and revenues rose by 12% and 11% respectively.

For the Australia Pacific LNG project, production during the quarter increased by 7% compared to the previous quarter.
