At Origin, we’re creating opportunities across the energy supply chain – from exploration and production through to energy generation and retailing. Right now, we have currently have the opportunity for experienced Gas Plant Operators, Field Operators and Water Treatment Operators to join our Spring Gully Team located in the Roma region.

As part of this role you will you will be involved in the safe operation and minor routine maintenance of coal seam gas wells, gas plants or water treatment facilities. As a Field Operator you will test and record well performance, operate and monitor SCADA Systems and other remote operating and control systems as well as optimising wells. Plant Operators ensure compression facilities operate reliabily to ensure gas specifications and meet daily gas nominations as directed by your supervisor. Water Treatment Operators ensure our 12 Megalitre water treatment facility reliabiliy processes water and monitor / maintain all ponds and sewage treatment plants in the Spring Gully area. Origin has developed robust skills and training program for the Operations team and the successfully candidate’s will be assessed against Origins Skills matrix for operators and will be renumerated accordingly.

Ideally, the successful candidates for the roles will have:

  • A safety focus, positive attitude and be a team player
  • Heavy industry experience, preferably in the hydrocarbons or water
  • The ability to understand and optimise complex, dynamic production facilities.
  • A trade background is essential if you have not worked as a heavy industry Operator previously
  • Understanding of the Permit to Work (PTW) system and Permit Authority process will be of benefit.
  • Experience working as a Gas Plant Operator, Gas Field Operator or Water Treatment Operator is desirable but not essential.

In joining Origin you will be working on an even time two weeks on two weeks off roster offering FIFO from Brisbane and live local packages.

    Hi Suzie . I was browsing through linkedin and found your profile . I viewed your website and found a job advertisement for CSG operators . But , judging by the date , i am too late.
    I am currently working at Calliope on the APLNG gas line , with a view to finish in the next month or 2 due to project finishing .
    I would love to have a crack at this role , can you please tell me i am not too late !!!
    I am a qualified Plumber and have been on the pipeline now since Dec 2012.
